The New Year has arrived and we wanted to share with you 10 easy steps you can take to make sure this is the best (and most organized!) year for all your photo needs:
There are many great moments throughout the year. Knowing when to have your photo sessions can make your life a whole lot easier than to wait until the last minute. Some important photo sessions to keep in mind could be January business headshots, May Mother’s Day photos, June Father’s Day photos, Fall photos for Christmas cards, back to school photos, December “Home for the Holiday” photos, and so much more!
Depending on the type of photos you would like to have determines what you should bring. Below are a few tips:
Knowing what to wear for a photo session is also important. Check out these important tips:
Photographers keep a busy schedule. In order to not miss out on booking a photo session, we recommend that you contact your photographer at least one month in advance of the date of the photo session, if possible.
Sometimes it can be hard to choose who you would like to do your photos. There are many talented photographers out there! We recommend that you do your research. Most photographers have a niche which could be anything from wedding photography, child portraiture, model photography, nature photography, newborn photography, and much more. Simply searching for professional photographers in your city and surrounding area is a great start. At Miko Photography, we specialize in family, newborn, wedding, and business portrait photography, but are not limited to those niches.
Depending on what photos you would like taken will determine your location. For business headshots, we typically recommend indoors. For engagement shoots, wedding photos, and family photos, we recommend a nice park or unique building/architecture for the background.
Photos of friends, family, and loved ones are too precious to lose. When you receive photos from your professional photographer from your recent photoshoot, or even simply taking care of the photos you took on your iPhone, remember these tips to help preserve your photos.
So many of us take hundreds, or even thousands of pictures, and never get them printed. Take time this year to print your photos. There are few worse feelings than accidentally deleting the digital copies of your photos. Make sure you have a printed version!
A substrate is the material that photos are printed on. For example, there are the common substrates such as matte photo paper or gloss photo paper. But consider trying a new substrate such as canvas, aluminum, mugs, photo books, etc.
One of the best gives you can give a family, friend, or loved one is a photography gift certificate. Help them preserve memories by providing them with a fun experience with a professional photographer.
These are just a few tips to keep in mind for the new year. We wish you blessings and happiness in 2017!
